Delfarib Fanaie is the Principle Founder and CEO of Moms Against Poverty in the United States. She has successfully led the organization for over 15 years and has been instrumental in its growth. Currently, Delfarib is the Vice President of Moms Against Poverty Canada and is excited to support the Canadian team in furthering the organization’s mission and expanding its reach in Canada and beyond.
Mehdi Sarrafzadeh has been the President of Moms Against Poverty Canada since July 2020. He has effectively managed commercial international entities for more than four decades. For the past 30 years, he has been actively involved in charitable and philanthropic activities aimed at improving the lives and educational opportunities of underprivileged children.
Yasamin Shamshiri holds an MA in Linguistics. She joined Moms Against Poverty in 2011 and has been devoting her time fully to the advancement of its mission of breaking the cycle of childhood poverty across the globe. She acts as the Chief Financial & Compliance Officer of the organization. Yasamin joined the board of directors for Moms Against Poverty Canada in November 2023 and is enthusiastic about sharing her experience with the Canadian team.
Vahid Dabbaghian and his wife relocated to Canada in 1999 to pursue higher education in Ottawa. Since 2004, he has held an academic position. Along with his research and teaching roles, he also serves as a commercial real estate advisor. Vahid and his wife are proud parents of a six-year-old daughter. In November 2023, Vahid became a board member and treasurer at Moms Against Poverty Canada, further extending his commitment to community service and philanthropy.
Mercedeh Mohajerani made a life-changing decision to move from Iran to Canada thirteen years ago. Despite the distance, her heart is still deeply connected to the challenges faced by the people of Iran, especially the plight of impoverished families and children. Her background in early childhood education has led her to operate a Montessori preschool, where she has had the privilege of working closely with young children, nurturing their potential. She is deeply invested in supporting initiatives that alleviate poverty and empower marginalized communities and became a board member in November 2023.
Managing Director
Sherry Noor has been actively involved in Moms Against Poverty projects for several years. She was also a volunteer at the Nikgaman Jamshid charity in Iran. Currently, Sherry holds the position of Managing Director for Moms Against Poverty Canada. Additionally, she works as the Victim Services Coordinator for the BC Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse.
