Vice President
Delfarib Fanaie is the principal founder and CEO of Moms Against Poverty in the United States. She has successfully led the organization since 2008 and has been instrumental in its growth. Delfarib is the Vice President of Moms Against Poverty Canada and is excited to support the Canadian team in furthering the organization’s mission and expanding its reach in Canada and beyond.

Yasamin Shamshiri holds an MA in Linguistics. She joined Moms Against Poverty in 2011 and has devoted her time entirely to advancing its mission of breaking the cycle of childhood poverty across the globe. She acts as the Chief Financial & Compliance Officer of the organization.
Yasamin joined the board of directors for Moms Against Poverty Canada in November 2023 and is enthusiastic about sharing her experience with the Canadian team.

Vahid Dabbaghian and his wife relocated to Canada in 1999 to pursue higher education in Ottawa. Since 2004, he has held an academic position. Along with his research and teaching roles, he also serves as a commercial real estate advisor. Vahid and his wife are proud parents of a healthy, happy daughter. In November 2023, Vahid became a board member and treasurer at Moms Against Poverty Canada, further extending his commitment to community service and philanthropy.

Sherry Noor has been actively involved in Moms Against Poverty projects for several years. She was also a volunteer at the Nikgaman Jamshid charity in Iran. Currently, Sherry is Managing Director for Moms Against Poverty Canada. Additionally, she works as the Victim Services Coordinator for the BC Society for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse.

Azadeh Alimadad, PhD in Statistics and Data Analytics, focuses on population health and safety research, working with public and private sectors to inform policies that improve community well-being. As a full-time faculty member at Langara College and a financial advisor, she aims to empower low-income families with access to quality financial opportunities. Driven by a passion to fight injustice and promote equity, Azadeh is excited to contribute her expertise to Moms Against Poverty’s mission of creating lasting change for vulnerable communities.

Mahtab Kamali holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and currently leads an AI team. While her day‑to‑day work revolves around developing advanced AI technologies, her deepest passion lies in combating hunger and ensuring fair access to vital resources. Driven by this commitment, Mahtab has organized multiple fundraising events dedicated to supporting single mothers who are the sole providers for their families.
Mehdi Sarrafzade
Mehdi Sarrafzade
Mehdi Sarrafzadeh served as the President of Moms Against Poverty Canada from July 2020 to April 2024 and subsequently joined the Board of Advisors. He has effectively managed international commercial entities for more than four decades. For the past 35 years, he has been actively involved in charitable and philanthropic initiatives focused on improving the lives and educational opportunities of impoverished children.
